About Valerie Vossen

Valerie Vossen is a consultant at Economic Bureau Amsterdam, where she is involved in economic research in both the Caribbean Netherlands and the European Netherlands. She has contributed to the development strategies of Saba and Sint Eustatius and was involved in a study for the Dutch NGO Natuur & Milieu on the economic impact of car-restricted cities. She also conducted a financial stress test for a public-sector enterprise in Curaçao and is developing a macroeconomic model for Bonaire. Valerie manages the data tool Caribbean Analytics & Statistics.

Valerie obtained both her Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Business Economics and her Master’s degree in Economics from Tilburg University, graduating cum laude in both programmes. During her master’s studies, she specialised in sustainable development, with a particular focus on environmental economics, climate change, and socioeconomic policy. Her work as a research assistant at Tilburg University further strengthened her interest and skills in quantitative research. For her master’s thesis, she studied the impact of extreme weather events resulting from climate change on income inequality within countries.
