Valerie Vossen is a consultant at Economisch Bureau Amsterdam, where she conducts economic research in both the Caribbean Netherlands and the European Netherlands. For example, she contributes to the development strategies of Saba and Sint Eustatius. In addition, she is involved in a project for the Natuur & Milieu Foundation, which examines the economic impact of low traffic cities.
Valerie obtained her bachelor’s degree in Economics and Business Economics and her master’s degree in Economics at Tilburg University. During her master’s, Valerie specialized in sustainable development, with a particular focus on environmental economics, climate change, and socio-economic policy. She learned to apply quantitative research methods to policy research with social relevance. Her work as a research assistant at Tilburg University further strengthened her interest and skills in quantitative research. For her master’s thesis, she investigated the impact of extreme weather, as a consequence of climate change, on income inequality within countries.
