About Koert van Buiren

Koert van Buiren is partner/director of Economic Bureau Amsterdam. He has led professionals in business services in various management positions.

Koert has approximately 25 years of experience in economic research and consulting work at home and abroad. He acts as an expert in competition cases, economic damages cases, state aid cases and procurement cases. He conducts research and advises governments at home and abroad on a wide range of policy areas. He also acts as an arbitrator in economic arbitration cases of the Netherlands Arbitration Institute.

With scientific and applied economic research, Koert specializes in the economics of Small Island Developing States (SIDS). He advises governments and companies in the Caribbean part of the Kingdom on economic growth policy, public finance, corporate finance, competition policy, economic regulation and corporate governance.

Koert studied general economics at the University of Amsterdam and graduated in macroeconomics. Afterwards, he specialized in competition economics and corporate finance. Previously, he worked in the corporate finance department of PwC and was director of SEO Economic Research. At the end of 2018, he founded Economic Bureau Amsterdam.

In addition to his work at the Economic Bureau Amsterdam, Koert is a member of the Supervisory Board of Saba Electric Company.
