Kaan Bronkhorst
Kaan Bronkhorst has worked as a consultant at Amsterdam Bureau for Economics since September 2023. He contributed, among other things, to the policy evaluation of the Debt Restructuring (Schuldsanering) and the Financial Supervision Act (Rijkswet Financieel Toezicht) on Curaçao and Sint Maarten and of the Aruba – Netherlands Protocol, to the development of a model that measures income effects and to the implementation of a MEO test. Kaan’s other projects include the development of a purchasing power model for Aruba and the development of a cost structure for special needs childcare in the Caribbean Netherlands.
Kaan graduated in the summer of 2023 with a master’s degree in Economics from the University of Amsterdam (UvA), specializing in Monetary Policy & Banking. During his master’s degree he followed the Honors Program of the Amsterdam School of Economics. His master’s thesis entitled ‘Heterogeneous Effects of Monetary Policy Shocks on Inequality in the Euro Area’ was awarded an 8. Kaan previously obtained two bachelor’s degrees from the UvA. In addition to Economics, he also studied European Studies, the last of which he completed Cum Laude. He also studied in Valencia for six months, which gave him strong skills in the Spanish language. In addition, during his final year at the UvA he worked as a Teaching Assistant for the third-year bachelor’s course Monetary & Fiscal Policy.
