Joris Nanne joined Amsterdam Bureau for Economics in September 2024 as a consultant. Joris completed his master’s degree in Policy Economics at the Erasmus School of Economics in 2023, and then continued with a legal master’s degree in Law and Economics at various universities around the world. During these interdisciplinary courses he learned to evaluate policies and to apply instruments from economics to all sorts of cases.  For example, he wrote theses on the effectiveness of gun legislation in the United States and on deforestation policies in India.

Before he commenced with his master’s degree, Joris obtained bachelor’s degrees in Economics & Business Economics and Law, both from Erasmus University Rotterdam. He then studied for two consecutive semesters in Hamburg and Mumbai for his master’s degree in Law and Economics, with a particular emphasis on the economic analysis of legal rules and on development economics. At Amsterdam Bureau for Economics, Joris conducts research into the price level on Saba.
