The Executive Council of Bonaire has presented Vishon Boneiru 2050 to the Island Council. Vishon Boneiru 2050 was developed by a committee composed of Frits Goedgedrag (chairman), Paul Comenencia, Joanne Nicastia, Giordano Molina, and Koert van Buiren. Furthermore, Economic Bureau Amsterdam provided the committee’s secretariat.

The committee was tasked with developing a broadly supported long-term vision for Bonaire. The vision addresses demographics and carrying capacity, nature and the environment, culture and identity, the economy, labor and income, education, health and safety, and finance and government. The committee developed this vision based on existing research, data analysis, and two rounds of discussions on Bonaire with experts and stakeholders.
