Tom Smits new offshoot of the EBA branch

As of 1 November this year, Tom Smits (econometrician, 34 years old) is a senior manager at Amsterdam Bureau for Economics (EBA). Tom specializes in policy evaluation, impact analysis and economic modelling. With his arrival, EBA strengthens its position in the Dutch and European market for policy evaluation and economic impact and effect measurement. “We are very pleased with Tom’s arrival at EBA. Tom is a brilliant econometrician who, like no other, can translate complex economic models into usable results and useful tools for our clients. But at least as important is that Tom is a great person to work with. His arrival is an asset to our clients and to the EBA team,” said Koert van Buiren, managing partner at EBA.

Tom studied civil engineering at the Delft University of Technology and econometrics at the University of Amsterdam. Until October 2022, Tom worked as a senior researcher at SEO Amsterdam Economics. Since November 2022, Tom has been a senior manager at Amsterdam Bureau for Economics.
