Koert van Buiren Appointed to the Supervisory Board of Saba Electric Company

The General Meeting of Shareholders of Saba Electric Company N.V. (SEC) has appointed Koert van Buiren as a member of the Board of Supervisory Directors, effective April 24, 2025, for a term of three years.

Van Buiren was appointed after a selection process and based on his knowledge of the economic, financial and political context in which SEC operates, his experience in governance and supervision, and his knowledge of energy supply in the Caribbean.

“Reliable, affordable, and sustainable energy is essential for Saba’s economic growth and societal progress”, said Van Buiren. “I look forward to working together with the Board and SEC’s management to build a sustainable future for the island.”

The appointment of Mr. Van Buiren was made following approval by the Kingdom Representative, acting on behalf of the Minister of the Interior and Kingdom Relations and the Minister for Climate and Green Growth.

With this appointment, SEC strengthens its supervisory body with a board member who brings broad expertise, extensive experience, and a wide network across both the European and Caribbean parts of the Kingdom.
