About Mathieu Houpier

Mathieu Houpier is an analyst at Economic Bureau Amsterdam since April 2025. Graduated from the Toulouse School of Economics with a Master’s degree in Public Policy and Development, he developed a strong interest in quantitative evaluations, particularly in the context of developing countries.

Mathieu has a solid background in economics and management and has been involved in many economic research projects. The most important of these have focused on migration and how it affects different economic outcomes in sending and receiving countries. This research has always involved a strong econometric methodology with the use of statistical software.

Mathieu gained his first professional experience in the tax and legal department of Ernst & Young in Madagascar, where he was involved in providing legal support to international companies. Through all his professional experiences, he has developed a versatile and rigorous approach to teamwork.

Mathieu has a strong interest in economic policy in island and developing countries, with a growing focus on the role of public-private partnerships in promoting development. He aims to apply his analytical skills to high-impact projects.
